The Utah Travel Council / Office of Tourism building is located in downtown Salt Lake City near the Utah State Capitol. It was constructed during the years of 1864-66.
Work on this project included the removal and repair of historic sandstone pavers and stone which surround the main structure. Extensive damage occurred due to water infiltration, freeze thaw cycles and settling soil conditions, along with improper installation of backing mortar and waterproofing from previous work. Specialty mortar, flashing and waterproofing methods were used to level and reconstruct the deck and stair areas of the structure which greatly enhanced the look and function.
